Japan Recovery Project (JRP)
The project team supported by the Public Health Institute (PHI) was conceived in order to support and improve the mental health services for Japanese people who are affected by the Northern Japan Great Earthquake and Tsunami Disaster. JRP mainly aims to provide training for PTSD treatment and prevention, as well as workshops for capacity building to improve the delivery of mental health care and other related services for those affected by the disaster, including the evacuees from the accident of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plants. JRP will work closely with the Japanese national and local governments and non-government/non-profit organizations in Japan in order to achieve the goals of the project.
